Summer 2027 Internship - Architectural Engineering (Nuclear Infrastructure)

Location: Los Angeles, CA, United States

Hourly pay: $28–$40 per hour, depending on academic standing. Monthly housing stipend and overtime eligibility are also provided.

What you will do

• Support structural and mechanical design for large-scale industrial and nuclear infrastructure projects.
• Prepare integrated structural and mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
• Coordinate architectural, civil, electrical, structural, mechanical, and construction disciplines.
• Support multidisciplinary BIM modeling in Revit and optimize building layouts for space and functionality.
• Participate in design reviews and project coordination meetings to resolve technical interface issues.
• Assist with constructability reviews, design updates, field design questions, and RFIs during construction.

Requirements

• Current enrollment as a junior or senior, or recent completion of a Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering.
• Proficiency in Revit is required.
• Foundational understanding of how structural and mechanical systems interact within a facility.
• Interest in industrial infrastructure, energy, or complex construction projects.
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.

Nice to have

• Experience with AutoCAD or other BIM and rendering tools.
• Interest or experience with Dynamo, Grasshopper, or Python for workflow automation.
• Internship or academic project experience in industrial building design or heavy construction.
• Exposure to infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, power-intensive sites, nuclear energy, or critical infrastructure resilience.
• Familiarity with building codes and standards for large-scale facility design.
