Salary: $170,000–$220,000 USD base salary, dependent on geographic location, knowledge, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Lead architecture and design decisions for core data systems and deliver reliable production outcomes.
• Partner with data, engineering, SRE, IT, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and communicate risks and tradeoffs.
• Own the self-hosted Prefect orchestration platform, including workers, upgrades, operational hygiene, and cost management.
• Own the Snowflake environment, including data modeling, performance, cost optimization, RBAC, permissions, and governance.
• Build and operate pipelines, ingestion services, APIs, integrations, observability, and AWS infrastructure using infrastructure as code.
• Set technical direction, mentor data engineers, and support model-ready datasets and production AI/LLM workflows.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in Snowflake, including advanced data modeling, query and warehouse performance tuning, cost management, and security/RBAC design.
• Staff-level or technical leadership experience setting architecture and direction for complex systems.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with experience in ELT patterns and data modeling.
• Hands-on experience operating self-hosted orchestration platforms; Prefect is preferred, with Airflow or Dagster experience also considered.
• Hands-on AWS and Terraform or equivalent infrastructure-as-code experience, plus cloud application and backend service development.
• Experience with production engineering practices including logging, alerting, versioning, CI/CD, and AI-assisted development platforms such as Claude Code.
