Senior Data Engineer (Blockchain)

Location: San Francisco, United States; hybrid schedule with at least three days per week in the San Francisco office

Salary: $190,000–$220,000 USD base salary per year, with possible equity plan participation.

What you will do

• Build highly scalable data features integrating with dozens of blockchains.
• Design and architect data models optimized for storage, retrieval, and sub-second blockchain queries.
• Build pipelines, data platforms, and ML or BI workflows from the ground up.
• Develop data processing and streaming workflows using technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Flink, and Dataflow.
• Translate user needs into scalable data solutions in collaboration with product managers, data scientists, backend engineers, and customer-facing teams.
• Document technical decisions, communicate trade-offs, mentor colleagues, and improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience architecting scalable APIs and distributed systems and guiding projects through production deployment.
• Strong programming skills in Python and proficiency in SQL or SparkSQL.
• Experience with BigQuery, Postgres, Airflow, and DBT.
• Experience deploying and monitoring cloud infrastructure with Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Datadog.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
• Ability to work from the San Francisco office at least three days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLMs or AI-powered workflows, including prompt engineering, internal tooling, or semantic search.
