Senior Conveyor Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Onsite in Kansas City, Kansas or Wentzville, Missouri, with full-time reporting to a specific location. Regular travel of 25–50% across North America is required. The role may be eligible for relocation benefits.

What you will do

• Lead complex conveyor engineering, fabrication, installation, and start-up projects in GM assembly plants across North America.
• Manage multiple equipment installations while ensuring compliance with GM standards, conveyor specifications, and safety requirements.
• Develop project timelines, manage financial aspects, and track deliverables through completion.
• Collaborate with internal engineers, suppliers, and external partners to resolve operational issues and support project execution.
• Develop lean conveyor designs that reduce total costs and support material presentation for operator assembly.
• Generate technical solutions for conveyor challenges and develop or modify conveyor layouts.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, project management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in reading, understanding, and developing conveyor layouts.
• Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with computer applications and engineering drawings, with the ability to adapt to new systems.
• GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship; candidates must not require GM sponsorship now or in the future. Legal ability to operate a motor vehicle regularly is required.

Nice to have

• Experience as a conveyor engineer or in maintenance.
• Knowledge of plant layouts, process requirements, throughput, and simulation in Body, Paint, or General Assembly.
• Project management experience.
• AutoCAD and FactoryCAD proficiency.
• Familiarity with NX software.
