Quality Engineer II (Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in Rosemount, Minnesota, United States. Due to ITAR regulations, the role is open only to U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or foreign nationals with refugee or asylee status; temporary visa holders are not eligible.

Salary: $82,000–$109,300 per year.

What you will do

• Establish and implement systems and process controls that ensure products conform to requirements.
• Provide quality assurance expertise for manufacturing and analyze the cost of poor quality.
• Lead problem investigations and corrective and preventive actions using methods such as DMAIC and 8D.
• Characterize manufacturing processes, assess capability and variation, and develop control plans.
• Support product transfers, new process introductions, supplier qualification, and supplier quality issue resolution.
• Conduct or support internal and external Quality System audits and investigate customer complaints.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Physical Science, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of manufacturing quality systems and standards including ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and/or AS9100.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, statistical analysis, project management, and technical communication skills.
• Experience working with customers and suppliers and writing technical procedures and work instructions.
• Fluent English and eligibility to work in the United States under ITAR requirements.

Nice to have

• At least 5 years of experience working within a quality system.
• Experience with CNC machining, injection molding, or 3D printing.
• Experience with JMP or Minitab and ISO 9001 audit certification.
• Demonstrated success applying Lean and DMAIC continuous improvement concepts.
