Medical Billing & Collections Specialist (MedTech)

Location: Hybrid role in Columbia, Maryland, United States

What you will do

• Prepare new charges, activate and bill patients, and maintain accurate patient information in the billing system.
• Verify insurance and patient details by coordinating with patients, physician offices, hospitals, insurance carriers, and other parties.
• Manage outstanding accounts receivable, follow up on open billings, and resolve past-due account issues.
• Respond to customer and external collection resource inquiries and contact parties to resolve billing issues.
• Review and reconcile accounts receivable and order-entry exceptions to support accurate invoicing and prompt payment.
• Maintain reports and databases while identifying payer billing issues for management.

Requirements

• High attention to quality, accuracy, and detail, with strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to create detailed reports.
• Understanding of HIPAA compliance and protected health information requirements.
• Working knowledge of payer reimbursement guidelines and applicable billing, governmental, regulatory, and company compliance policies.
• Ability to work independently, multitask, and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to sit for 6–8 hours per day in front of a computer screen.
