Senior Structural Dynamics Engineer (HVAC)

Location: La Crosse, Wisconsin, United States; onsite Monday through Thursday, with a flexible work location on Fridays

Annual base salary: $97,406.66–$135,834.99

What you will do

• Lead the advancement of acoustics and mechanics engineering methods, tools, and technologies for commercial HVAC products.
• Deliver technical designs that meet project and product requirements.
• Develop and supervise structural and structural-dynamics simulation models covering modes, dynamic response, stress, strain, deformation, and fatigue.
• Plan and oversee modal analysis, steady-state and transient vibration, rotating machinery, strength, and component-fatigue testing.
• Correlate simulation models with test data, validate predictions, and improve model accuracy.
• Collaborate with product engineers, test engineers, technicians, and global engineering teams while mentoring other engineering resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mechanics or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least five years of acoustics or NVH experience.
• Coursework in mechanics of materials, vibration, structural dynamics, numerical simulation methods, and digital signal processing.
• Experience in structural engineering design and technical problem-solving using simulations and tests.
• Knowledge of machinery dynamics, structural testing, simulation-model correlation, teamwork, communication, and project management.
• Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously; overnight travel of less than 10% may be required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or Ph.D.
• Experience with ANSYS, Siemens SimCenter, or Siemens Test.Lab.
• Experience with data acquisition systems, mechanical strain measurement, HVAC products, compressors, fans, or sheet-metal structures.
