TL;DR
Software Engineer (Medical Devices): Designing and developing prototypes, production-grade software, and full-stack applications for cranial medical devices with an accent on C/C++, reliability, software craftsmanship, and clinical validation. Focus on building software components, executing design verification, debugging in laboratory and cadaveric settings, and supporting medical robotics and surgical workflows.

Location: On-site in Audubon, Pennsylvania, United States. Travel up to 5% may be required for cadaver labs and surgeries in the US.

What you will do

  • Design and develop prototypes, proofs of concept, and production-grade software modules for medical devices.
  • Deploy, maintain, and update full-stack applications across multiple platforms.
  • Contribute to software architecture, design reviews, testing strategies, documentation, and quality-system compliance.
  • Execute design verification procedures and support validation testing in laboratory and cadaveric settings.
  • Test, debug, and troubleshoot applications in clinical, laboratory, and cadaveric environments.
  • Attend surgical cases periodically to understand clinical context and end-user requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years of professional programming experience, or a master’s degree with 1–3 years of experience.
  • Experience with object-oriented analysis and design, C/C++, and development of software tools, utilities, libraries, or components.
  • Experience with standard software development environments, including Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, and Git.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong problem-solving, organization, communication, collaboration, and deadline-management skills.
  • Ability to work on-site and travel up to 5% for US cadaver labs and surgeries.

Nice to have

  • UI development experience, especially with Qt.
  • Medical device or life sciences experience.
  • Test-driven development experience or willingness to learn TDD.
