Ground Software Systems Engineer

Salary: $160,000–$205,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Provide expert analysis and advice on ground command-and-control software requirements, design, installation, testing, operations, and maintenance.
• Support the full life cycle procurement and transition to operations of a cloud-based satellite command-and-control system.
• Review software requirements, interface definitions, architecture, verification methods, specifications, and developer readiness for factory and site testing.
• Track development issues, discrepancy reports, emerging risks, and proposed risk burn-down plans; prepare status updates and briefing materials.
• Coordinate requirements, specification changes, testing, and verification activities across program, spacecraft, payload, contractor, and customer stakeholders.
• Advise and mentor customer personnel on segment architecture, specifications, and verification and validation.

Requirements

• Active/current TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is required.
• Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of experience, or a master’s degree with 6+ years of experience.
• Experience with ground systems in a major satellite program office or commercial SATCOM office.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps, agile software development processes, acquisition, development, and operations and maintenance practices for large complex systems.
• Experience with DoD/IC acquisition processes, program management milestones, and software security best practices.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, team-building, problem-solving, oral, and written communication skills.
