Sr. Staff Systems Engineer (Software Engineering)

Location: Westminster, Colorado, United States; U.S. Person status required

Salary: $128,000–$170,000–$187,000 annually for positions based in Colorado, plus incentive eligibility

What you will do

• Translate business needs into functional and non-functional technical requirements.
• Develop end-to-end software solution designs and document current-state and target-state architectures.
• Identify cross-team dependencies, technical risks, and architectural impacts across multiple software domains.
• Lead technical solution definition and provide direction to software engineering teams.
• Ensure solutions meet enterprise architecture, security, scalability, and engineering standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, solution engineering, or software architecture.
• Experience with requirements analysis, use-case definition, interface control documentation, ConOps documentation, and test plans.
• Experience translating business requirements into detailed technical requirements for Agile development teams.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, system integration, APIs, modern development practices, Agile methodologies, and the SDLC.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, Asylee, or Refugee; certain work may be subject to U.S. export control and ITAR requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud-native architectures, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Experience with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience using Jira, Confluence, or similar engineering collaboration tools.
• INCOSE, SAFe, AWS, Azure, GCP, or other relevant technical certifications.
