Senior Software Engineer (DevOps)

Location: US Remote

Base salary: $180K–$195K per year; equity and bonus offered.

What you will do

• Design and implement Kubernetes-based, high-availability on-premises solutions, including control plane applications, telemetry systems, air-gapped installations, and appliances.
• Extend and maintain the Kubernetes operator responsible for installing, upgrading, and self-healing NetBox Enterprise.
• Develop the operational management console, lifecycle management tools, internal APIs, and integration-testing tooling.
• Build multi-stage CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and drive releases on a six-week cadence.
• Write Python and Rust across operator internals, APIs, and internal tooling.
• Act as Engineering Guardian, working with Customer Success and customers to diagnose deployment and operational issues.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or SRE, with a record of writing robust, maintainable code.
• Expertise with Kubernetes, Helm charts, deployment automation, and complex multi-cluster and multi-region deployments.
• Experience with AI-augmented development using Claude Code and reliable agentic tooling workflows.
• Strong Python skills for tooling, APIs, and automation.
• Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions, ArgoCD or FluxCD, and Terraform.
• Strong Linux administration, troubleshooting, networking, software supply chain security, vulnerability scanning, and CVE management skills; comfort working directly with customers is required.

Nice to have

• Rust or Golang programming experience.
• Experience with virtual appliances, air-gapped installations, or Replicated.
• Knowledge of networking concepts or distributed systems architecture.
• 3+ years in a B2B software startup or high-growth organization.
• Open-source contributions or project involvement.
