Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco, California, United States; in-office attendance is optional and not required.

Salary: $187,000–$250,000 annual base salary, plus potential equity.

What you will do

• Define and implement standards, reference architecture, security requirements, and review practices for internal software.
• Own AWS and Snowflake infrastructure, environments, infrastructure as code, observability, networking, data stores, DNS, certificates, and platform costs.
• Build CI/CD pipelines, golden paths, shared modules, base images, automated provisioning, and centralized secrets management.
• Secure the platform and software supply chain through cloud hardening, vulnerability management, least-privilege access, monitoring, DLP, and incident response.
• Manage RBAC and ABAC, SSO, SCIM, JML automation, access reviews, compliance evidence, and incident runbooks.
• Operate AI and data integrations including MCP, Workato, Snowflake access paths, semantic layers, and AI client tooling.

Requirements

• Experience establishing a platform, DevOps, or infrastructure practice from scratch.
• Deep hands-on production experience with major cloud infrastructure, networking, IAM, compute, and infrastructure as code such as Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.
• Experience owning CI/CD with testing, security scanning, deployment gates, containers, and orchestration.
• Strong Python or Go, SQL, Snowflake querying, secrets management, and production iPaaS integration experience.
• Practical infrastructure security experience, including cloud hardening, vulnerability management, incident response, SIEM analysis, and least-privilege access.
• Experience implementing SAML/OIDC SSO and SCIM with identity providers such as Okta.

Nice to have

• Internal developer platform experience serving other engineers.
• Production experience with LLM or agent infrastructure, MCP servers, RAG pipelines, semantic layers, or enterprise AI tooling.
• Experience with AI security risks, Workato, Airflow, dbt, MuleSoft, Snowflake operations, or detection engineering.
• Experience supporting GTM or revenue organizations and tools such as Gong, HubSpot, or Outreach.
