Pharmacy Assistant

Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada — Walmart Supercenter, 100-310 Shawville Blvd S E

Salary: CAD 17.60–23.10 per hour, based on relevant experience.

What you will do

• Receive prescriptions and check patient, prescriber, allergy, insurance, and special-request information according to provincial legal and regulatory requirements.
• Perform pharmacy computer functions, including data entry, price checks, patient profile updates, refills, reports, and prescription interpretation.
• Fill prescriptions under pharmacist supervision by selecting, counting or measuring, labeling, organizing, and preparing products for final checking.
• Maintain medication and supply inventory, process pharmacy orders and returns, remove expired medications, and organize pharmacy shelves.
• Keep the dispensary, equipment, supplies, and work areas clean, safe, and organized while completing filing and administrative support.
• Support OTC operations, ordering, stocking, and cashier duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Ability to work in the Calgary, Alberta pharmacy location.
• Ability to process written prescriptions, recognize drug names and Latin abbreviations, and perform dosage calculations.
• Ability to follow prescription accuracy procedures, including visual, DIN, and seven-point checks, under pharmacist supervision.
• Ability to follow provincial legal and regulatory requirements and provide customer service as part of a pharmacy team.
