AWS DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: Sioux Falls, South Dakota, United States. U.S. citizenship is required, and employment is contingent on customer, facility-access, background-investigation, and contract eligibility requirements.

What you will do

• Design, deploy, secure, maintain, and operate AWS environments for production, regulated, and mission-critical workloads.
• Assess applications and infrastructure and recommend migration and modernization approaches, including rehosting, replatforming, containerization, and cloud-native services.
• Build reusable Infrastructure as Code modules and deployment patterns using Terraform, AWS CDK, AWS CloudFormation, or comparable tools.
• Design and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines, automating testing, security scanning, artifact management, deployment, validation, promotion, and rollback.
• Support containerized workloads with Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, Amazon ECS, Helm, and GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Flux.
• Implement cloud security, observability, incident response, disaster recovery, technical documentation, and FinOps improvements while guiding less-experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least six years of relevant professional experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, systems administration, software development, infrastructure automation, or cybersecurity engineering.
• Hands-on AWS experience with production, regulated, security-sensitive, or mission-critical workloads, including migration, modernization, networking, IAM, encryption, secrets management, logging, monitoring, and security.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, Python or another programming language, Linux administration, Git, CI/CD platforms, automated testing, deployment automation, containers, and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST SP 800-53, monitoring, incident response, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, and FinOps principles.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a national agency check and background investigation are required.

Nice to have

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional certification.
• Additional AWS Professional or Specialty certifications.
• Experience with public-sector, federal, government-contracting, or similarly regulated AWS environments.
• Experience administering GitLab Runners and large-scale GitLab delivery pipelines.
• Experience building reusable platform services, integrating AWS with enterprise infrastructure, or applying advanced FinOps practices.
