Senior Platform Ops Engineer (AWS)

Media and entertainment business operating digital platforms and brands across news, finance, golf, sports, and entertainment.

What you will do

• Build and maintain core platform infrastructure supporting engineering teams across digital entertainment products.
• Design and deliver AWS cloud infrastructure, containerized environments, and cloud-native architectures using ECS and Kubernetes.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines, Terraform modules, reusable infrastructure patterns, and automation that enable secure and reliable deployments.
• Improve software delivery, observability, security, compliance, and operational practices across the organization.
• Monitor and optimize cloud spending, maintain SLOs, SLIs, and SLAs, and improve service reliability.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams, lead technical initiatives, conduct design reviews, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

• 6+ years of hands-on AWS experience with a focus on infrastructure as code.
• At least 4 years of experience managing Linux systems and 3+ years of Python automation and scripting.
• 3+ years of Terraform experience, including module development, state management, and multi-environment workflows.
• Experience with Git, GitOps, AWS security, VPCs, DNS, load balancers, CDNs, service mesh, and network troubleshooting.
• Experience with distributed-systems troubleshooting, packet captures, log analysis, performance profiling, and production incident diagnosis.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, and ELK, plus PagerDuty and on-call rotations.

Nice to have

• AWS certifications, including AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate.
• Experience with scalable application environments, event-driven architectures, Docker, and Kubernetes security.
• Experience running AI-related services, contributing to open-source or internal platform tools, or managing multi-account AWS strategies.
• Experience with chaos engineering, game days, internal developer portals, or Backstage.
