Legal Counsel (Property & Casualty Insurance)

Location: Hybrid role based in Atlanta, Chicago, or Manhattan, with at least two days per week in the office

Salary: $120,000–$180,000 per year, plus performance-based bonus

What you will do

• Draft and update property and casualty insurance policy forms, endorsements, and wordings in partnership with claims, operations, underwriting, and product teams.
• Coordinate insurance form and endorsement submissions with state filing teams and respond to state regulator inquiries.
• Support product redesigns and advise on regulatory and litigation trends affecting product strategies.
• Draft and review insurance services and distribution agreements, including terms of business agreements.
• Support consumer complaints, financial and market conduct examinations, and regulator information requests.
• Advise business units on insurance regulatory requirements affecting distribution, licensing, marketing, and operations.

Requirements

• 4+ years of law firm or in-house insurance industry experience in property and casualty insurance, preferably liability insurance.
• Knowledge of property and casualty products, including cyber, D&O, E&O, and general liability.
• Experience with insurance policy wordings, coverage, and regulatory approval processes.
• Strong understanding of insurance contract principles and industry regulatory requirements.
• Juris Doctor degree and admission to at least one state bar are required.
• Strong organization, time management, project management, independent working, and collaboration skills.
