RF Software Manager (FPGA)

Location: Redondo Beach, United States; onsite. Applicants must be U.S. persons or eligible to obtain an export license under ITAR/EAR regulations.

Salary: $205,000–$250,000 per year, plus potential stock options and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead, manage, and grow a team of embedded software, FPGA, and simulation engineers.
• Own the architecture, development, integration, verification, and delivery of RF communication and GPS/GNSS receiver software, simulation, and FPGA logic.
• Develop and test interfaces between RF hardware, GPS receivers, flight computers, spacecraft flight software, and ground systems.
• Establish development, testing, code review, documentation, and release practices for flight-critical systems.
• Partner with RF and avionics hardware teams on board bring-up, integration, troubleshooting, and qualification.
• Drive technical roadmaps, staffing plans, risk resolution, spacecraft integration, environmental testing, launch, and mission operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of experience developing software for wireless systems in critical applications.
• 2+ years of technical leadership, team leadership, or engineering management experience.
• Experience developing embedded software in C++.
• Strong understanding of RF communication systems, including modulation, demodulation, signal processing, calibration, and RF system control.
• U.S. person status or eligibility to obtain an export license is required because of ITAR/EAR restrictions.

Nice to have

• Xilinx UltraScale+ board bring-up and development experience.
• Experience with PA, PLL, LNA, and mixer testing.
• Experience implementing or integrating BPSK, QPSK, and related digital modulation systems.
• Familiarity with GPS/GNSS signal acquisition and tracking.
• Experience developing software or firmware for space environments, including space link budgets and ground-station integration.
