FPGA Firmware Design Manager

Location: Milpitas, California, United States

Base pay: $153,300–$260,600 annually

What you will do

• Lead the architecture, design, implementation, verification, maintenance, release, and support of FPGA firmware.
• Guide development of high-speed digital interfaces, data acquisition systems, image-processing pipelines, motion-control systems, real-time embedded systems, and FPGA-based signal processing.
• Drive design reviews and establish standards for coding, simulation, verification, documentation, and release processes.
• Ensure firmware designs are scalable, maintainable, and reusable across multiple product platforms.
• Lead, mentor, develop, recruit, interview, and onboard FPGA firmware engineers.
• Set priorities, allocate resources across multiple programs, manage performance, and support career development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant education and experience.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience with a proven ability to lead.
• At least 4 years of management experience.
• At least 5 years of FPGA firmware development experience.
• Strong expertise with FPGA development tools and methodologies.
• Experience delivering complex products in a fast-paced environment.
