Cloud Computing Infrastructure Architect (Azure)

Location: San Diego, California, USA. Remote work is available, with occasional work required at a Booz Allen or customer facility. U.S. citizenship is required.

Salary: $86,900–$198,000 annualized USD.

What you will do

• Design, assess, implement, and improve secure Microsoft Azure cloud capabilities.
• Review Azure environments, identify security and operational gaps, and support remediation planning.
• Work with Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Microsoft Sentinel, Azure Migrate, Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud, and Azure DevOps.
• Support migration readiness, diagnostic logging reviews, Sentinel connector validation, workspace analysis, privileged access workflows, and cloud security assessments.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders, application teams, cloud platform teams, SOC teams, and senior security engineers.
• Translate technical findings into implementation plans, roadmaps, executive briefings, and actionable recommendations.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required.
• 3+ years of experience in Azure cloud engineering, Azure security, cloud migration, IAM, security operations, or enterprise technology delivery.
• Experience with Azure virtual machines, networking, storage, subscriptions, resource groups, monitoring, or migration services.
• Experience with cloud readiness or security assessments, migration planning, dependency discovery, or environment reviews.
• Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, diagnostic settings, dashboards, operational reporting, or cloud monitoring workflows.
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Security and Risk Analysis, Computer Science, or Engineering.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure Migrate, VM sizing, application dependency mapping, migration agents, and performance metric collection.
• Experience analyzing Microsoft Sentinel costs and ingestion, writing KQL queries, and validating alerts or dashboards.
• Knowledge of Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, Key Vault, private endpoints, NSGs, Azure Firewall, managed identities, and secure Azure networking.
• Experience with Splunk, ServiceNow, enterprise monitoring platforms, or cloud cost optimization.
• Microsoft certifications such as AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-500, SC-200, or SC-300.
