Controller (FP&A, Financial Reporting & Accounting Leadership)

Location: Remote from South Africa; working hours aligned with U.S. business hours.

hirify.global is hiring for a client seeking to scale its accounting and financial operations.

What you will do

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, targeting completion within five business days.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, payroll allocations, depreciation schedules, and intercompany transactions.
• Prepare GAAP- and IFRS-compliant financial statements, reporting packages, dashboards, variance analyses, and executive commentary.
• Coordinate external audits, maintain audit-ready documentation, and strengthen internal controls and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning, capital planning, cash flow, liquidity, working capital, and debt compliance.
• Lead the accounting team and improve ERP systems, automation, workflows, and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience and 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, internal controls, financial reporting, and financial close management.
• Hands-on experience with ERP platforms such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks Enterprise, or similar systems.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets, plus strong financial analysis and reporting skills.
• Ability to work remotely from South Africa during U.S. business hours.

Nice to have

• CPA, ACCA, or MBA.
• Previous experience as a Controller, Finance Manager, or Accounting Manager.
• ERP implementation or M&A integration experience.
• Experience in SaaS, professional services, or real estate.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or financial dashboards.
