Director, Africa Regional Financial Controller

Location: Johannesburg, South Africa; hybrid with in-person work at a hirify.global office for a minimum of two days per week

What you will do

• Own the completeness and accuracy of the Africa regional income statement and balance sheet under US GAAP.
• Oversee regional SOX controls and lead the controllership team’s compliance with group policies.
• Analyze financial statements and communicate results and changes to regional and International Segment leadership.
• Lead intercompany agreements and review customer and vendor agreements for accounting, revenue recognition, tax, pricing, and risk implications.
• Oversee the integration of acquired entities into the regional controllership structure.
• Coordinate US GAAP and statutory audits across the region.

Requirements

• CA (SA) qualification with extensive US GAAP and SOX reporting experience.
• Experience with local statutory reporting, statutory audits, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience leading a team and a controllership function.
• Knowledge of revenue recognition under US GAAP and/or IFRS.
• Experience collaborating with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Shared Services, and other business functions.
• Ability to assess accounting impacts, explain business drivers, and communicate clearly with senior leadership.
