Quality Assurance Specialist

Location: San Jose, Costa Rica; work from the office a minimum of 3 days a week

What you will do

• Analyze requirements, user stories, tickets, and technical documentation to identify testing needs, gaps, ambiguities, and risks.
• Create, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, test scripts, checklists, and traceability matrices.
• Perform functional, non-functional, and regression testing across digital products and platforms.
• Document and track defects through resolution using defect-management tools, and report test results, risks, and recommendations.
• Collaborate with QA leads, QA team members, project managers, designers, developers, and local and offshore teams.
• Support QA estimation, onboarding, knowledge sharing, and process improvements related to quality, usability, accessibility, and performance.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in software quality assurance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Working knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.
• Experience with Jira or similar task-management and defect-tracking platforms.
• Strong working knowledge of Windows and/or macOS environments.
• English proficiency at approximately B2 level or higher in reading, writing, and verbal communication.

Nice to have

• ISTQB or another QA, testing, or software-quality certification.
• Experience with Confluence, Box, and project-management tools.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and MS Project.
