Senior Platform Engineer (Fintech)

Location: City of London, United Kingdom; hybrid working with 3 days in the office

What you will do

• Design and architect scalable AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform and contribute to cloud technology standardisation.
• Build, optimise, and maintain CI/CD pipelines while applying DevOps and DevSecOps practices.
• Architect and manage Kubernetes environments, including EKS, AKS, and GKE, and implement self-service platform capabilities.
• Define monitoring, alerting, and observability standards to support infrastructure reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with development, security, and FinOps teams on technical decisions, platform risk reduction, and engineering standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and maintain documentation and knowledge-sharing practices.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Experience with Terraform or Ansible, automation platforms, and scripting in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Experience designing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions, or equivalent, including secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and compliance.
• 2+ years of Kubernetes administration across on-premises and cloud environments, preferably EKS, with knowledge of networking, RBAC, pod security, service mesh, and Docker.
• Experience with Backstage, artifact repositories, API gateways, and self-service platform engineering tools.
• Knowledge of observability platforms such as Honeycomb, Prometheus, and Grafana; microservices architecture; cloud networking; DNS; load balancing; traffic management; and Git-based collaboration.
