Senior Platform Engineer (Kubernetes)

Location: London, United Kingdom — Hybrid

Salary: £105,000–£125,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Build and evolve infrastructure as code with Terraform, Kubernetes, and GCP.
• Own CI/CD pipelines and improve the speed, reliability, and security of builds, tests, and deployments.
• Operate observability systems covering metrics, logging, and distributed tracing.
• Define SLOs for latency, availability, and error rates, and manage platform capacity.
• Lead incident response, conduct blameless post-mortems, and implement production fixes.
• Partner with product engineering teams to reduce manual toil and streamline production delivery.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience operating production systems with an SRE mindset.
• Strong knowledge of modern cloud architectures in GCP or AWS, including networking, IAM, and managed services.
• Deep expertise in Docker and Kubernetes, including cluster design, networking, storage, and security.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, Go, Python, Rust, or another modern programming language, with experience writing tested automation.
• Experience owning operational tooling such as centralized logging or APM platforms, including Datadog or Splunk.
• Ability to communicate technical ideas and influence how engineers build and operate services.
