Linux - System Administrator (f/m/d) Defense Products

Location: Hybrid working model in Karlsruhe and/or Berlin, Germany. Mandatory on-call rotation of one week per month.

What you will do

• Administer and troubleshoot scrubbing platforms and large-scale proxy infrastructure for real-time DDoS mitigation.
• Manage the lifecycle of more than 800 Linux-based components in a highly available infrastructure.
• Analyze high-volume telemetry and attack patterns using the ELK Stack and ClickHouse.
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines in an agile DevOps environment.
• Evaluate and integrate technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with Operations, SRE, and network engineering squads to protect infrastructure across Germany and beyond.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of platform operating experience at scale and several years administering complex, distributed Linux systems.
• Expert-level Linux administration skills.
• Experience configuring and operating Nginx as a reverse proxy or Web Application Firewall.
• Hands-on experience with BGP, Flowspec, and Anycast routing on Linux systems and network routers.
• Strong automation skills with Ansible, Puppet, and Python.
• Strong analytical skills for evaluating DDoS attacks and implementing effective countermeasures.

Nice to have

• Initial experience with Docker, Kubernetes, ClickHouse, or the ELK Stack.
• Strong advocacy for open-source technologies, especially Linux.
