Data Processing Operations Engineer (m/f/d) (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Perform data ingestion, processing, product analysis, and product distribution.
• Monitor and report operational performance, including production statistics and PDGS operations.
• Prepare new missions and operational systems through operational tests, procedures, documentation, and training.
• Test and implement new products and maintain operational procedures and configuration data.
• Investigate anomalies and provide first-line maintenance, including on-call support.
• Coordinate with external organisations and service providers and participate in technical meetings and formal reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• Experience with near-real-time, data-driven, automated systems, large computer networks, and UNIX/Linux.
• Experience preparing operations for new missions, including testing, documentation, procedures, training, and operations build-up.
• Experience in integration, verification, and validation of data processing systems or processors, including end-to-end test plans, specifications, procedures, and reports.
• Knowledge of scripting languages, databases, computer and network systems, IT security, configuration control, and ECSS standards; experience with Perl, Python, shell, PostgreSQL, C, C++, or IDL is relevant.
• Fluent English is mandatory. Ability to work autonomously, solve problems analytically, work under pressure, and collaborate in a multicultural environment is required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of spacecraft or ground segment operations.
• Experience validating complex remote sensing data processing systems.
• Experience processing meteorological or Earth observation instrument data and products from Level 0 to Level 2.
• Knowledge of quality control, calibration, and validation.
• Knowledge of another European language.
