Industrial AI Cloud - Network Engineer (InfiniBand)

Location: Budapest, Debrecen, Pécs, or Szeged, Hungary. Hybrid working is available, but remote work is restricted to Hungary due to European taxation regulations. The role operates within the European Union to meet customer data security and privacy requirements.

What you will do

• Provision, operate, and maintain InfiniBand switches, Ethernet switches, FortiGate firewalls, routers, border gateways, and NVIDIA UFM appliances.
• Coordinate network lifecycle activities, including installations, upgrades, configuration changes, firmware updates, interconnections, and technical documentation.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for network provisioning, orchestration, and configuration changes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage high-speed InfiniBand and Ethernet/RoCE fabrics, out-of-band management networks, and data center PE/CE connectivity.
• Implement monitoring and observability, perform incident detection and root-cause analysis, and maintain patches, firmware, and configuration backups at scale.
• Collaborate with data center, IaaS, PaaS, platform engineering, and AI solution teams while following ITIL processes and Zero Outage guidelines.

Requirements

• Experience installing, maintaining, and operating large-scale data center networks.
• Deep knowledge of InfiniBand architecture, RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE), and low-latency, high-throughput networking for AI/HPC workloads.
• Experience configuring NVIDIA/Mellanox switches and managing UFM, plus practical knowledge of Cumulus Linux, Ubuntu, or Debian networking.
• Knowledge of Cisco or Juniper routers, BGP, OSPF, ASNs, IP transit, peering, failover connectivity, bridges, bonds, VLANs, and routing tables.
• FortiGate firewall administration covering policies, NAT, VPNs, IDS/IPS, HA, security segmentation, DDoS mitigation, and zero-trust networking.
• Experience with network diagnostics, continuous monitoring, incident and problem management, switch provisioning, OS and firmware upgrades, patching, backups, NOC/SOC procedures, and on-call rotations.
