Strategic Sourcing Manager (AI)

Location: San Francisco, New York, London, or Berlin offices; employees within a predetermined commuting distance must attend in-office anchor days on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.

Base pay in San Francisco: $150,000–$180,000 annually, plus potential benefits, equity, bonus, or variable pay. Compensation may be adjusted based on employee location.

What you will do

• Lead sourcing strategy and commercial negotiations with cloud infrastructure providers and hyperscalers.
• Structure IaaS, compute, storage, and capacity agreements that balance committed spend, flexibility, consumption growth, and unit economics.
• Design tiered, committed-volume, and usage-based pricing models that scale with infrastructure demand.
• Own sourcing for emerging AI infrastructure and high-volume or customer-facing AI workloads.
• Partner with Engineering, Finance, Legal, FP&A, Security, and other stakeholders to forecast demand, evaluate suppliers, and execute agreements.
• Build AI-powered sourcing tools and playbooks for redlining, negotiation preparation, benchmarking, and vendor reporting.

Requirements

• Significant strategic sourcing experience with cloud infrastructure deals.
• Direct negotiation experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle, or comparable infrastructure providers.
• Understanding of IaaS, compute, storage, consumption-based pricing, committed spend, discounts, and capacity agreements.
• Experience leading complex, high-value negotiations where consumption changes make forecasting and long-term commitments challenging.
• Strong analytical skills in rate and unit-cost analysis, TCO modeling, pricing design, and commercial risk evaluation.
• Experience managing strategic supplier relationships and contracts from negotiation through renewal.

• Experience sourcing AI/ML infrastructure, data services, or technical services.
• Experience negotiating with AI hyperscalers or large-scale AI compute and inference providers.
• Experience sourcing SaaS and enterprise software alongside infrastructure.
