Senior Staff Software Engineer - Slack Frontend Infrastructure (React)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, United States; in-office attendance is expected 10 days per quarter

Salary: $218,400–$365,200 annual base salary; selected San Francisco and New York City metropolitan areas: $263,200–$401,400 annually

What you will do

• Lead cross-functional frontend initiatives focused on performance, scalability, resiliency, and developer productivity.
• Design, maintain, and evolve core frontend modules for hirify.global’s desktop web client.
• Develop and improve WebSocket infrastructure, the boot process, Redux/React layers, logging, and alerting systems.
• Drive architectural decisions that support changing product and platform requirements.
• Resolve communication and alignment challenges across teams and stakeholders.
• Represent frontend technical strategy at the organizational level and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with JavaScript and TypeScript in large-scale applications.
• Deep familiarity with browser performance profiling and debugging tools.
• Proficiency in React, Redux, and modern web technologies, with the ability to explain architectural trade-offs.
• Experience authoring code and patterns used by multiple teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative and empathetic approach.
• A related technical degree is required.

Nice to have

• Expertise in React/Redux optimization, memory profiling, flame graph analysis, and production tuning.
• Experience leading large-scale migrations, upgrades, or frontend modernization initiatives.
• Familiarity with persistence layers, service workers, caching strategies, and offline functionality.
