Staff Software Engineer (React)

Location: Hybrid role based in San Jose, California, USA

Salary: $129,500–$185,000 USD base salary per year, excluding bonus, equity, commissions, and benefits.

What you will do

• Build high-quality libraries and tools for frontend application development.
• Develop and maintain high-performance, resilient user interfaces with React, TypeScript, and Tailwind.
• Design and communicate technical specifications with stakeholders.
• Identify and solve technical challenges through robust test automation.
• Participate in code reviews and enforce coding standards for a maintainable codebase.
• Drive frontend architecture, engineering excellence, performance, and maintainability as a technical leader.

Requirements

• 5+ years of JavaScript development experience focused on building and deploying React applications.
• Expertise in clear technical documentation, testing, and automation within UI workflows.
• Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to develop creative technical solutions.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to stakeholders and drive engineering excellence.

Nice to have

• Experience building web frontends for generative AI applications with complex state management and real-time streaming LLM responses.
• Expertise in frontend performance optimization, code quality, and resolving rendering bottlenecks in data-intensive interfaces.
• Experience designing scalable, reusable frontend architectures with efficient component composition.
