Senior Financial Control Analyst (Fintech)

Location: London or Cardiff office, or distributed working within the UK; ad hoc meetings in London are required

Salary: £60,000–£65,000 per year, plus performance-based incentive awards

What you will do

• Embed and scale an automated software capitalisation process with engineering and business teams.
• Own financial reporting processes for software capitalisation, operate month-end controls, and perform impairment assessments.
• Apply IFRS knowledge to accounting judgements, documentary evidence, new products, and accounting policy proposals.
• Manage month-end close, group consolidation, year-end activities, and collaboration with external auditors.
• Improve accounting systems, reporting automation, chart of accounts integrity, and financial static data.
• Produce management commentary and support finance activities including forecasting, valuations, transfer pricing, and tax policy research.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant with 2+ years of post-qualification experience.
• Experience in financial reporting or financial control, ideally within retail banking.
• Strong knowledge of technical accounting standards and key financial controls.
• Ability to assess accounting impacts for new products and translate complex information into clear language.
• Interest in data and process efficiency; SQL skills are beneficial.
• Ability to work within the UK and attend ad hoc meetings in London.
