Home Lending Loan Officer (Mortgage Lending)

Location: Hood River, Oregon, United States; occasional travel required.

What you will do

• Originate self-generated residential mortgage loans through outside sales and referral relationships.
• Develop and execute business development and marketing plans aligned with monthly and quarterly production standards.
• Interview borrowers, analyze financial and credit information, identify financing objectives, and recommend mortgage products and pricing.
• Collect applications and supporting documentation, including appraisals, title reports, financial information, and credit reports.
• Manage loan files through processing, underwriting, closing, funding, and post-closing.
• Maintain customer service, regulatory compliance, product knowledge, and accurate documentation; coach or train others when requested.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of previous self-generated mortgage origination, sales, and loan structuring experience.
• Knowledge of home lending processes, including processing, underwriting, closing, and funding.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to develop sustainable referral sources, generate leads, manage deadlines, and maintain internal and external relationships.
• Proficiency with personal computers and software such as Word and Excel.
• Must be registered as a Mortgage Loan Originator under the SAFE Act and authorized to perform closed-end MLO activities subject to Regulation Z.

Nice to have

• High school diploma, GED, vocational training, or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or an equivalent field.
