What you will do

• Develop and conduct high-quality research across multiple projects within the Miller research group.
• Develop innovative experimental protocols and novel biocatalytic approaches.
• Work on the chemoenzymatic synthesis of carbohydrate conjugates and enzymatic processes for carbohydrate-based surfactants.
• Collaborate with academic and industry partner institutions, including the EnzAct programme and Unilever.
• Manage research activities independently and deliver outputs on schedule.
• Disseminate findings through high-quality journal publications, conferences, and seminars.

Requirements

• PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline, with additional research experience in an academic or industry setting.
• Demonstrable research experience in biocatalysis.
• Experience in organic chemistry, molecular biology, protein expression, mutagenesis, or related areas.
• Experience developing innovative experimental protocols and novel biocatalytic approaches.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with flexibility in addressing research problems.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Nice to have

• Interest in carbohydrate and nucleic acid chemical biology.
• Experience with multi-step or one-pot enzyme-based synthesis routes.
• Experience with microbiology techniques.
