Senior Data Governance Specialist (SAP)

Location: Manchester, UK; hybrid working with 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home

What you will do

• Define, document, and govern business rules for transactional data across business processes and SAP objects.
• Develop and maintain governance frameworks, lifecycle rules, ownership models, and control points.
• Collaborate with Global Process Owners, process experts, business stakeholders, data teams, and technical teams to validate governance requirements and responsibilities.
• Translate business rules into data models, reporting logic, field requirements, validation rules, and data quality monitoring outputs.
• Monitor data quality trends, identify governance gaps and root causes, and coordinate resolution with responsible stakeholders.
• Support the complete lifecycle management of transactional records, including active, inactive, closed, cancelled, retained, and exception-managed statuses.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of data governance principles in transactional data and business process environments.
• Experience defining, documenting, and implementing business rules for data quality, lifecycle management, and governance controls.
• Good understanding of SAP transactional data, business processes, system statuses, lifecycle stages, and reporting requirements.
• Experience using Power BI or similar tools for dashboards, data quality reports, governance views, and lifecycle monitoring.
• Ability to translate business requirements into reporting logic, data models, field requirements, and validation rules with technical teams.
• Experience monitoring data quality, reviewing exceptions, identifying root causes, and coordinating follow-up with stakeholders.
