Senior Data & Digital Solutions Consultant

Location: Birmingham or London office, with hybrid working; regular time in either office is expected.

What you will do

• Design, build, maintain, and optimise data pipelines, models, dashboards, and analytical tools for low-carbon technologies and policies.
• Source, clean, process, and analyse public and project-specific datasets for commercial, social, economic, and environmental assessments.
• Develop and maintain Python models, APIs, system integrations, documentation, quality assurance practices, and release testing.
• Lead data and research project delivery, coordinate analysts, manage workstreams, and maintain client relationships.
• Communicate analytical methods and findings clearly to senior stakeholders, policymakers, industry leaders, and decision-makers.
• Support business development by shaping propositions, developing reusable data tools, and expanding analytical services.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in a data-focused analytical role within consultancy, government, a think tank, industry, or a comparable setting.
• Advanced Python skills for data collection, script maintenance, debugging, error handling, pipeline development, and API integration.
• Strong MS Excel skills and practical experience with AI tools and techniques for analysis automation and delivery.
• Experience with JSON processing, data collection and manipulation, quantitative analysis, and structured problem-solving.
• Strong communication, time management, stakeholder management, and independent project delivery skills.
• Degree-level or postgraduate qualification in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related numerate discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have

• SQL and experience with relational databases, queries, views, and troubleshooting.
• Power BI or other data visualisation and dashboarding tools.
• Azure Functions, Microsoft Power Platform, Power Automate, and Power Apps experience.
• Experience in energy, utilities, environmental sectors, public policy, economics, or econometrics.
• Project management, client-facing consulting, business development, architecture, integration, or migration planning experience.
