What you will do

• Design, build, and optimize data pipelines and models to provide insights on low-carbon technologies and policies.
• Source, clean, and manipulate public and project-specific datasets to create dashboards and evidence bases.
• Perform quantitative analysis across commercial, social, economic, and environmental criteria to assess business models.
• Manage the delivery of data and research projects, coordinating analysts and maintaining client relationships.
• Support business development by identifying opportunities, shaping technical propositions, and contributing to proposals.
• Provide technical leadership and upskill the broader Economics team in Python and data management.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in a data-focused analytical role within consultancy, government, or industry.
• Advanced Python skills for data collection, script maintenance, API integration, and pipeline development.
• Strong MS Excel skills for economic and quantitative modelling.
• Proficiency in JSON processing and manipulation.
• Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related numerate discipline.
• Based in the UK with ability to attend the Birmingham or London office regularly.

Nice to have

• SQL and experience with relational databases.
• Power BI or other data visualization and dashboarding tools.
• Experience with Azure Functions and Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps).
• Background in the energy, utilities, or environmental sector.
• Knowledge of economics or econometrics principles.
