Full Time Facility & Profee Outpatient: ED, Clinic, Ancillary - Medical Coder Remote

Location: Remote from the USA

Compensation: $25–$28 per hour

What you will do

• Review medical records for diagnoses and procedures related to emergency room, clinic, and ancillary outpatient encounters.
• Assign facility and professional E/M levels, principal and secondary CPT codes, and associated charges.
• Code procedures, injections, and infusions and apply appropriate CPT modifiers based on hospital, payer, and state guidelines.
• Abstract information from medical records according to client requirements and coding guidelines.
• Request physician clarification for ambiguous or conflicting documentation.
• Participate in coding roundtables and maintain current knowledge of Coding Clinic, CPT Assistant, and official reporting guidelines.

Requirements

• Remote work from the USA.
• CPC and COC coding credentials.
• At least 3 years of experience coding facility and professional outpatient charts across ancillary, clinic, and emergency department settings.
• Experience with ICD, CPT, E/M, injection, and infusion coding.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, surgical technology, pharmacology, disease processes, reimbursement systems, and applicable coding and billing regulations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; a passing score on the coding proficiency test is required.
