Coding Manager (Healthcare Coding)

Location: Remote - Nationwide within the United States; travel to and onsite work at client, temporary, or corporate office locations may be required

Salary: $76,300–$114,450 annually, based on experience

What you will do

• Manage operational coding and abstracting activities for assigned markets and acute care facilities.
• Recruit, onboard, schedule, evaluate, coach, and develop coding staff.
• Coordinate training and monitor employee competency and productivity.
• Ensure coding activities comply with AHA, AMA, CMS, payer, federal, state, and system requirements.
• Collaborate with medical staff, executive leadership, revenue cycle teams, and other departments.
• Support revenue cycle goals, policies, procedures, committees, and coding-related strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of coding and leadership experience, with extensive pediatric coding experience.
• Advanced knowledge of coding guidelines, payer requirements, DRG, and medical records processes.
• Experience with electronic medical records, coding software, and Microsoft Office.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, plus coursework in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, prioritization, and deadline-management skills.
• Current professional certification required: CPC, CCS-P, CCS, CMPA, RHIA, or RHIT.
• Must be able to travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations when required.

• Previous management experience in coding.
• Certifications such as CPC, CPMA, or CCS.
