TL;DR
Senior Applied AI Engineer (AWS/Databricks): Designing and delivering production-grade AI and GenAI systems end-to-end for client engagements with an accent on business impact, model evaluation, and scalable cloud deployment. Focus on integrating LLMs, balancing technical debt with delivery speed, managing technical risk, and mentoring engineers.
Location: Fully remote, UK-based; occasional travel to company events may be required.

What you will do
- Own workstream and engagement outcomes, define success measures, and assess business impact.
- Design AI and GenAI systems across the full lifecycle, making trade-offs between technical debt, delivery speed and scalability.
- Integrate AI models and LLMs and deploy production systems on AWS and/or Databricks.
- Explain AI concepts, limitations and technical trade-offs to technical and non-technical clients.
- Lead code reviews, resolve technical disagreements and manage delivery and technical risk.
- Mentor engineers and contribute reusable components, accelerators and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering AI models, systems and products to production in a consultancy or AI-driven product organisation.
- Strong Python programming, system design and testing methodology experience.
- Experience integrating models or LLMs and deploying them on AWS and/or Databricks.
- Solid CI/CD practice and the ability to evaluate model performance beyond simple accuracy.
- Experience owning delivery, managing stakeholders and guiding other engineers.
Nice to have
- Specialist depth in GenAI/ML, including RAG or agentic workflows, Data Science, Data Engineering, Product/Full-Stack or Platform/MLOps.
- AWS and/or Databricks certifications.
- Experience with responsible AI and production monitoring.
