What you will do
- Set technical direction for applied AI projects and translate product and customer priorities into engineering plans.
- Design and deploy state-of-the-art AI models and systems, including agents, MCP, SQL agents, and RAG tools.
- Develop data collection, fine-tuning, model-training, evaluation, and self-healing ML/AI pipelines.
- Build scalable backend systems with logging, telemetry, and evaluation harnesses for GenAI products.
- Guide, review, mentor, and coach engineers while remaining hands-on with architecture and implementation.
- Represent technical feasibility in customer conversations and coordinate with product, data quality, platform, DevOps, and business stakeholders.
Requirements
- 3+ years of ML/AI engineering experience and 8+ years of overall software development experience.
- Experience leading production software projects or teams, mentoring engineers, delegating work, and setting technical direction.
- Hands-on experience with agents or agentic workflows, MCP, or RAG, with working exposure to all three areas.
- Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow or PyTorch, language modeling, GenAI, scalable ML/AI architecture, and end-to-end model deployment and monitoring.
- Experience with testing, code review, deployment, QA, test automation, Agile methodologies, and distributed data-processing systems at 10s–100s of TB scale.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
Nice to have
- Experience with Databricks, Mosaic AI Gateway, Snowflake, FHIR, or healthcare data.
- Previous experience as a tech lead, team lead, or engineering people manager.
