Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Cloud Infrastructure)

Location: Remote - US; travel to the Mississauga and/or Salt Lake City offices is required for onboarding, team events, and semi-annual or annual meetings.

Salary: USD 150,000–172,000 per year, plus bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership for a team applying software engineering practices to operations at scale.
• Monitor service-level objectives and establish application performance and business metrics with product and business owners.
• Design operational architectures that improve automation, repeatability, and consistency.
• Build monitoring technologies and processes that improve application visibility while keeping operational workload manageable.
• Test application and infrastructure resilience across varied failure conditions and conduct game days, training events, and engineering spikes.
• Partner with security and software development teams to improve resilience, efficiency, performance, cost, and response to vulnerabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, MIS, or a related discipline.
• Relevant software development or architecture experience and hands-on experience in DevOps or system administration.
• Experience building and supporting cloud-based solutions and mission-critical production applications.
• Programming experience with one or more of C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby, including algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis, and software design.
• Experience with configuration management and deployment automation tools such as Chef, Terraform, Puppet, or Ansible.
• Experience administering Windows and Linux systems, cloud and on-premise infrastructure, software development life cycle processes, QA or beta environments, Agile practices, and production change management.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure cloud infrastructure and services.
• Experience with virtualization and container solutions such as Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS.
• Broad troubleshooting experience across web servers, Java platforms, operating systems, networks, virtualization, and databases.
• Advanced Linux knowledge, including system tracing, TCP, service managers, and kernel compilation.
• Open-source software knowledge or contribution experience.
