Sr. Site Reliability Engineer (Federal)

Location: Hybrid role based in Crystal City, Virginia, USA; active US Government Secret security clearance required and must be maintained.

Base pay range: $132,000–$165,000 USD annually, excluding bonus, equity, commission, and benefits.

What you will do

• Manage deployments, on-call duties, incident management, and operational tasks for products in US Government classified environments.
• Oversee AWS, private cloud environments, containers, and virtual machines to maintain infrastructure stability and scalability.
• Develop Python scripts, containerized services, and monitoring mechanisms to automate operations and reduce service disruption.
• Build and enhance services in classified environments while applying DevOps best practices.
• Maintain documentation, participate in deployment syncs, and handle escalation management.

Requirements

• Active US Government Secret security clearance required; maintaining the clearance is a condition of continued employment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and 3+ years of Site Reliability Engineering experience across Operations and Engineering environments.
• Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions within the functional domain.
• Proficiency in Linux administration, network troubleshooting, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Strong Python coding skills and experience with container-based architectures, including AWS ECS and Kubernetes.
• Experience with monitoring activities including vulnerability scanning, patch management, and reporting.
• Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments, solve complex problems, take ownership, collaborate, and work with ongoing feedback.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying or managing AI-driven observability and AIOps solutions for predictive anomaly detection and automated incident response in cloud infrastructure.
• Experience working in air-gapped and classified environments and managing monthly monitoring programs.
• Familiarity with High or Moderate FedRAMP authorization levels and compliance requirements.
• Information Assurance Technician Level 2 certification or Top Secret security clearance.
