Staff Site Reliability Engineer (Federal)

Location: Hybrid in Crystal City, Virginia, USA; remote Maryland, USA is also listed. An active US Government Secret security clearance is required and must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.

Base pay range: $140,000–$175,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Manage deployments, on-call duties, incident management, and deployment coordination for products in US Government classified environments.
• Operate AWS, private cloud environments, containers, virtual machines, and other cloud infrastructure components to maintain stability and scalability.
• Develop scripts, containerized services, and monitoring mechanisms to automate operational tasks and reduce service disruption.
• Build and enhance services in classified environments while applying DevOps practices through documentation and escalation management.

Requirements

• Active US Government Secret security clearance, with ongoing maintenance required for continued employment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, plus 5+ years of Site Reliability Engineering experience across both Operations and Engineering environments.
• Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions to improve outcomes in the functional domain.
• Proficiency in Linux administration, network troubleshooting, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Strong Python skills and experience with container-based architectures, including AWS ECS and Kubernetes.
• Experience with monitoring activities such as vulnerability scanning, patch management, and reporting.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying or managing AI-driven observability and AIOps solutions for predictive anomaly detection and automated incident response in cloud infrastructure.
• Experience working in air-gapped and classified environments and managing monthly monitoring programs.
• Familiarity with High or Moderate FedRAMP authorization levels and compliance requirements.
• Information Assurance Technician Level 2 certification or Top Secret security clearance.
