Senior Expert Fixed Access Network Engineering (m/w/d)

Location: Eschborn, Germany; hybrid work with up to 3 days per week from home. Up to 20 days per year may be worked from another EU country and an increasing number of non-EU countries.

What you will do

• Implement goals, specifications, and business processes for the Fixed Access Engineering & Optimization team.
• Lead the evolution of network management access toward an SDN-based paradigm.
• Design and implement scalable optical fixed access solutions for consumer and enterprise markets.
• Develop fiber access connectivity using GPON, XGSPON, new PON technologies, and P2P Ethernet fiber.
• Manage supplier tender requirements and evaluations, technical supplier selection, contract conditions, and budget estimates across hirify.global Group projects.
• Provide technical leadership to external team members.

Requirements

• Degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of packet-switched and circuit-switched networks.
• Strong knowledge of fixed access technologies, including GPON, XGSPON, xDSL, PON, and P2P Ethernet fiber, with an emphasis on SDN.
• Experience with OSS and SDN-C protocols and interfaces, including XML, JSON, SOAP, RESTconf, Netconf, YANG, OpenFlow, Kafka, or CORBA.
• Competence with standard web services and tools used in OSS/SDN-C environments, including Keycloak, Grafana, and MariaDB.
• Very good written and spoken English skills, along with analytical, communication, cooperation, organizational, and conceptual skills.
