Offshore Commissioning Engineer

Location: Aberdeen, United Kingdom; offshore and onshore client sites with regular international travel, including Africa and the Middle East. Flexible working hours and the potential to work up to 2 days per week from home may be available in accordance with manager approval and corporate policies.

What you will do

• Install, commission, maintain, and support structural monitoring systems on offshore and onshore client sites.
• Perform mechanical and electrical installation activities according to company procedures and client requirements.
• Conduct site surveys, equipment inspections, maintenance, battery replacements, and data downloads.
• Support equipment assembly, preparation, factory acceptance testing, and mobilisation activities in the workshop.
• Communicate with clients, vessel personnel, rig staff, and internal project teams about operational progress and technical matters.
• Complete trip reports and documentation while following health, safety, environmental, risk assessment, and reporting requirements.

Requirements

• Experience installing and commissioning monitoring, instrumentation, or similar systems in offshore or field-based environments.
• Practical electrical and mechanical installation experience, including testing and troubleshooting electronic equipment, sensors, or data acquisition systems.
• Competence with Microsoft Office applications and Windows operating systems.
• Ability to prepare accurate technical reports and build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Valid driving licence and a proactive approach to learning new technical skills.
• Ability to undertake regular international travel and obtain required offshore certification and medical clearance.

Nice to have

• HND or higher qualification in electronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline.
• BOSIET and MIST certification.
• Hazardous area equipment experience or CompEx certification.
• Experience in offshore energy, marine, infrastructure monitoring, or related sectors.
