TL;DR

Location: On-site in Herndon, Virginia, at a classified facility; U.S. citizenship required

Salary: $140,000–$187,000–$205,700 annually for the Washington, DC metropolitan area

What you will do

  • Develop, modify, and run high-fidelity simulations of satellites, aircraft, sensors, and ISR systems.
  • Compare architectures, technologies, operating concepts, and system configurations to identify performance drivers, risks, and limitations.
  • Build operational scenarios that represent customer objectives, mission constraints, environments, and system behavior.
  • Create analysis tools, scripts, automation, visualizations, and simulation capabilities.
  • Analyze large simulation datasets and communicate trends, conclusions, trade-offs, and recommendations.
  • Evaluate model assumptions, inputs, outputs, and analytical methods through QA/QC and engineering judgment.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship and an active or current TS/SCI clearance, or TS/SCI eligibility, are mandatory.
  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, applied mathematics, physics, computer science, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of related experience.
  • Experience with quantitative engineering methods, including mathematical models, algorithms, simulations, or similar analysis.
  • Ability to solve open-ended technical problems, evaluate assumptions and risks, and communicate findings to engineers, customers, and senior decision-makers.
  • Ability and willingness to work on-site in a classified facility.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience with astrodynamics, remote sensing, spacecraft or aircraft systems, sensor phenomenology, aerospace operations, mission engineering, or complex systems integration.
  • Python or similar programming and scripting experience for automation, data manipulation, and engineering tool development.
  • Experience with space or airborne modeling and simulation, ISR, trade studies, large engineering datasets, or government customer analyses.
