Senior Space Mission Operations Engineer

Location: On-site in El Segundo, California, United States

Salary: $140,333–$179,314 per year, plus stock options and/or long-term cash incentives.

hirify.global develops commercial space infrastructure, including in-orbit pharmaceutical processing payloads, reentry capsules, heat shields, and satellite buses.

What you will do

• Develop, coordinate, execute, and lead on-orbit missions.
• Own the full operations development cycle for mission-unique payloads, from mission profiles through execution.
• Collaborate across engineering and company teams to improve mission operations and ensure mission success.
• Automate operational work by building webtools.
• Scale operational capabilities to support an increasing flight cadence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably aerospace, electrical engineering, or computer science.
• At least 2 years of experience in real-time operations for a complex, high-consequence operation.
• At least 1 year of experience developing software tools with Python, JavaScript, and/or HTML.
• Familiarity with spacecraft avionics, GNC, software, and thermal design practices.
• Must be lawfully authorized to work in the United States and qualify as a U.S. person for access to export-controlled technology.

Nice to have

• At least 3 years of experience with spacecraft systems.
• Previous spacecraft operator experience in a leadership role.
• Previous in-orbit spacecraft operations experience.
• Experience with Git, Atlassian products, and ground station networks.
