TL;DR
Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) (Aerospace): Developing and integrating model-based architectures, requirements, and interfaces for Air Force ABMS and JADC2 systems with an accent on SysML, interoperability, and full-lifecycle systems engineering. Focus on designing cross-mission enterprise architectures, resolving system-of-systems integration issues, and analyzing trade-space and traceability across requirements, designs, and V&V activities.

Location: On-site in Beavercreek, Ohio, United States; standard core hours are 0900–1500. Travel requirements are 10–20%.

What you will do

  • Provide model-based systems engineering and test and evaluation guidance for the Air Force Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS) Division.
  • Develop working-group products covering the design, development, production, and integration of ABMS systems.
  • Develop and maintain mission architecture interface requirements and facilitate resolution of system-of-systems integration issues.
  • Design cross-mission-area and enterprise architectures that improve interoperability and reduce duplicated acquisition and maintenance costs.
  • Evaluate architectural trade-space, map requirements, and develop candidate solutions for common and enterprise functions.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data from system-of-systems integration events while collaborating with military subject matter experts and program managers.

Requirements

  • An active TS/SCI clearance is required for consideration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Experience with classified programs and requirements development and analysis, including synthesis, decomposition, and management of T0–T2 requirements.
  • Experience with full-lifecycle systems design following the V-Model and model-based systems development using SysML.
  • Familiarity with system and component requirements documents, interface control documents, data dictionaries, and product traceability through V&V activities.
  • Strong independent problem-solving, written and verbal communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant technical experience in aerospace and 3+ years using MBSE tools such as SPARX or CAMEO.
  • Experience with the NATO Modeling and Simulation Group, mission engineering, or command and control communication system design and acquisition.
  • Experience with technical mentorship and OCSMP Level 1 and 2 certification.
