Reimbursement Specialist (Authorizations Department)– M-F 8:30am-5:00pm (Hybrid)

Location: Hybrid in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Hourly pay: $19.50–$22.50 per hour

What you will do

• Initiate authorization requests with insurance carriers for new and established patients.
• Communicate medical necessity and educate case managers about the LifeVest system to obtain service authorization.
• Collect clinical information, progress notes, forms, and other documentation required for continued coverage.
• Coordinate with clients, physician offices, sales representatives, and insurance companies to obtain and relay information.
• Follow up weekly on authorization decisions and updated clinical documentation.
• Generate authorization requests and perform additional duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• At least 2 years of experience in medical insurance verification preferred.
• Internal candidates may qualify with at least 1 year of experience supporting medical providers or patients in a phone queue.
• Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party commercial insurance is preferred.
• Strong communication, customer service, phone presence, negotiation, and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Teams, email programs, and online data systems.
