Dispensing Specialist (Medical Devices)

What you will do

• Create patient records and process new medical orders from hospitals and physician offices.
• Verify insurance benefits and determine LifeVest dispensing eligibility based on patient qualifications, clinical documentation, and payer requirements.
• Identify missing medical orders, clinical notes, testing, and other documentation, then submit materials to insurance carriers.
• Explain medical necessity to insurance case managers and obtain required service authorizations.
• Communicate dispensing decisions, authorization results, and order status to sales representatives and internal departments.
• Coordinate with customers, physician offices, sales representatives, and billing to support reimbursement and accurate charges.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 3 years of insurance verification experience, or at least 1 year of internal experience supporting medical providers or patients in a phone queue.
• Strong verbal and written communication, customer service, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to navigate multiple software systems, manage concurrent tasks under strict deadlines, and work accurately in a stressful environment.
• Ability to communicate insurance policy information clearly and make dispensing decisions independently.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice to have

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in nursing, business, or a related field.
