Journeyman, HVAC Boiler Chiller APG

Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland; must be within 50 miles. No relocation funds are available. The role is onsite.

Salary: $75,900–$113,850 per year for Maryland locations.

What you will do

• Perform preventive inspections, diagnostics, and corrective maintenance on HVAC, boiler, and chiller systems.
• Maintain and repair boilers, chillers, pumps, air handlers, fan coils, cooling towers, compressors, dampers, coils, motors, and control valves.
• Replace, cut, bend, and fabricate steel, copper, and PVC piping for equipment installations and repairs.
• Perform pipe welding, brazing, and soldering while meeting applicable codes, specifications, and quality standards.
• Install and replace HVAC equipment and maintain accurate service records.
• Follow safety requirements, perform physical labor involving equipment and tools weighing up to 50–70 pounds, and pass a customer background check.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Current Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
• At least five years of preventive and corrective maintenance experience with HVAC and/or boiler-chiller systems.
• Steam Fitter Journeyman certification, Pipe Welding certification, and a State of Maryland Journeyman HVAC license.
• Membership in good standing with UA Local Union 486 or willingness to become a member.
• High school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, compliant driving record, and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Nice to have

• Experience and certifications with Cleaver-Brooks boilers and control systems.
• Completion of the 30-hour OSHA Construction safety class.
